Mollie King joined Radio 1 as a broadcaster in 2018 and has fast become one of Radio 1’s leading DJs and a listener favourite – leading her own show Future Pop every Thursday to champion emerging pop artists, ‘Matt and Mollie’ alongside co-host Matt Edmondson every Friday - Sunday (which will be moving to a highly coveted weekday slot from July), plus providing occasional Radio 1 Breakfast Show cover for Greg James. Mollie also hosted ‘A Short History of Girlbands’ – a documentary podcast series for BBC Sounds in October 2023, celebrating girlbands past and present. Mollie has also hosted the main stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend alongside co-host Matt Edmondson.

In March 2024, Mollie undertook ‘Mollie King’s Pedal Power for Red Nose Day’ with Radio 1 – a nationwide 500km cycle from London to Hull in memory of her late father Stephen. A week of highly engaging and emotional broadcasting following Mollie’s journey galvanised Radio 1 listeners to raise over £1.3million for Comic Relief – an unprecedented total that will help fund projects both across the UK and internationally. Throughout this project, Mollie visited bereavement support services funded by Comic Relief and spoke openly about her own loss, whilst also opening up around topics such as her own experiences of self-doubt and resilience.

After only 6 months into her role at Radio 1, Mollie won the silver award for ‘Best New Presenter’ at the 2018 ARIA Radio Academy Awards and has recently been shortlisted for Music Week Awards 2024 – Best Radio Award for Future Pop.

In addition to Radio, Mollie is a regular guest presenter for This Morning, covered the entertainment slot on Lorraine, and has also guest presented on Blue Peter.

In 2019, Mollie hosted The Greatest Dancer podcast for the BBC as well as presenting at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards alongside Greg James and Maya Jama which aired on BBC2. Mollie also took part in the 15th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, making it all the way to the semi-finals. In 2022 Mollie landed the coveted role of co-hosting the return of dating show ‘Beauty and the Geek’ on Discovery+.

Mollie is a proud ambassador for the Dyslexia Association, a learning disorder she was diagnosed with as a child. Mollie is very passionate about campaigning for early diagnostic tests in schools, as well as funding to support children through education with Dyslexia and spoke about this in Parliament in 2019. Mollie is also a Born Free anti-captivity ambassador, has worked closely with the charity Mothers2Mothers and travelled to Ghana in 2014 with REDD charity to help raise awareness and funds for HIV.

Mollie is a red carpet regular who regularly features in ‘best dressed’ lists. Recent red carpet appearances include British Fashion Awards, BRITs, Glamour Women of the Year, GQ Men of the Year, Rolling Stone UK Awards, BAFTA TV plus more. Throughout her career, Mollie has regularly featured on the cover of many UK magazines – recent covers include You Magazine and quarterly fashion title, ARCADIA.
