A South London native with a law degree, Yinka’s love for music lead her to pursue other dreams and she successfully landed herself the Rinse FM Breakfast Show. With her infectious energy, Yinka built up a loyal fan base and was eventually hired by Capital XTRA to host in the evenings. Yinka’s popularity and distinctive voice soon lead her to the dream slot and her current position, The Capital Xtra Breakfast Show 6-10am.
Also a DJ, Yinka hosts the main stage at the huge Wireless Festival and has DJ’d for well - known brands such as eBay and Revlon. You will also find many collaborations on her social media platforms, well known brand examples are Boots, Coca Cola and Maltesers, the range is broad as Yinka is a popular choice.
From Radio to TV Yinka presents 4musics monthly ‘Fresh’ series with some additional output in-between, her lovable personality bursts as she gets more time to bring you a mix of ones to watch and established artists through their music performances and seated interviews. Beyond her passion for music, is film. Yinka is the live red carpet host for the BIFA Awards, this is real live hosting, interviewing A list actors regarding award-nominated work. You will also find her hosting at screenings for big movie premiers.
She may be aiming high but Yinka’s feet are firmly on the ground, giving a Ted Talk entitled “The Myth Of Escaping The Ghetto” in 2017. The talk reached audiences of thousands and received glowing reviews.
Yinka is multi-talented with depth due to her own background which means she also has credibility in the world of factual filmmaking. Her first groundbreaking Channel 4 documentary ‘Damilola: The Boy Next Door’ aired in November 2020.
Yinka was featured as a rising star in Hello! and Fabulous magazine in early 2020, flip to late 2020 and she was featured in Vogue and The Guardian.
