London’s Noisettes are about to get seriously noisy again. After a three year break where the two founder members Shingai Shoniwa and Dan Smith got to take some time off the road and stretch out into other projects, the former designing for numerous fashion collaborations, Composing the theme to The Commonwealth Games and recording her much anticipated solo EP due for release later on in the year, the latter turning writer and producer for hire collaborating with a slew of International Artistes, and fronting a Afro-Psyche instrumental group called Hot Border Special. Working internationally with a range of producers including Jean-Baptiste [Will i am] Dennis Ferrer and ShyFX the Noisettes are no strangers to creative adventures.

Shoniwa and Smith have come back together with the assistance of Toby Couling on drums and Geordan Reid-Campbell on Keys/Toys and have been writing together this year on a new EP with the working title of ‘Supergirl’ due for release this autumn.

The band first achieved commercial success and nationwide recognition with the second single off their second album, “Don’t Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go)” which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart in Spring 2009.

With Noisettes, it’s always best to expect the unexpected. Awash with stomping electro-rock and galloping funk grooves, the London duo live set consists of sleek pop songs steeped in soul, dizzy on disco and harking back to the days of blues and jazz greats. They’re a great live act, with masses of energy and a big stage presence. They have plenty of interaction with the crowd and a LOT of fun on stage.

The Noisettes have toured Europe and the United States extensively, with the likes of TV on the Radio, Tom Vek, Babyshambles, Bloc Party, the Mystery Jets, Muse and Lady Gaga. The band have also performed their biggest hits at many major festivals including Coachella, Reading and Leeds, Detour Music Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, Wireless and Glastonbury Festival, Cornbury Festival, Vintage and the Lake of Stars festival in Mangochi, Malawi, Get Loaded In The Park and Glastonbury.

The Noisettes have also performed their explosive DJ set at many corporate/ fashion /brand events including sets for BBC Worldwide, BMW, and Chivas Regal Their set features Shinghai performing their biggest hits over the set and the music style is a mixed bag of retro, 90’s R7B, new pop, classic dance floor tracks and indie hits.
